The Internet can be heaven or hell when it comes to finding money making opportunities. There are so many programs on the internet promising to make you rich that it will make your head spin. How do you determine which programs are legit and which are scams? You need to know what to look for.
There are some red flags you must be aware of. Stay away from Internet Marketing Programs that want a large upfront investment. If the program promises big money with little work, another red flag you should stay away. Also, if you don't know what it is your selling, stay away like the plague. Another sure sign you’re dealing with a huckster is a lack of contact information.
Unfortunately there are still some illegal pyramid schemes out there that give the legitimate Internet Marketing Programs a bad name. A sure sign of an illegal pyramid is where the sole objective is to recruit new members into the pyramid with no product or service involved.
Of course there are a lot of excellent businesses online that charge a fee to become a representative for them. Use the Internet Marketing Program for 3 months before you give your verdict. You should have a good idea by then whether you are receiving a benefit for your investment. Don't be too quick to dismiss an Internet Marketing Opportunity, give it 3 months.
The reason most people fail at Internet Marketing is they give up too quickly. There is a parable about an old gold miner that explains this fact all too painfully: "During the gold rush of 1849 an old miner had been digging for months with nothing to show for it. Frustrated at his lack of success, he gave up on his gold mine and sold it for a pittance. When the new miner continued digging where the old miner had left off he struck a huge gold vein...only 2 feet away from where the old miner had stopped digging!"
The moral of the story, don't give up...your gold mine may only be a few feet away!
Do your due diligence before signing on with an Internet Marketing Program. Research the company, visit forums, contact the company and see how their customer service is?...how long till they responded to you? Ask them questions...know exactly what you are getting into.
The Internet Marketing Program you choose should automate a lot of the tasks that are required to make money online...use the power of computing! You want to work smarter, not harder. For example, if you don't know how to build your own optimized website, choose an Internet Marketing Program that does that for you. Somebody has already spent years on how to create fully optimized money making websites, why reinvent the wheel?
Make sure the Internet Marketing Program you are doing utilizes auto responders in their marketing. I’m sure you have heard the term “The Money is in the list”. Auto Responders are such a powerful weapon in your marketing campaigns that I cannot emphasize this enough. Most people will not buy your product until they are exposed to it 7 times, on average. Email auto responders allow you to expose your product to your customers every day!
Auto responders help you build trust with your customers, especially when you are sending them quality content on a daily basis...Use it!

Internet Marketing Programs - Don't Get Scammed - Part II
By John Lynch
http://www.how2makemoneyonline.org/
Remember our parable in Part I about the old gold miner in 1849? Don't you think he would have struck that gold vein much sooner if he had today's technology?...a 10 ton computerized bull dozer instead of picks and shovels? A lot of Internet Marketers are using picks and shovels to mine their gold online when they could be using 10 ton computerized bull dozers...use technology to your advantage!
Right now the search engines love quality content, so writing good articles or having them ghost written for you will deliver huge benefits. An Internet Marketing Program that automates the process of article marketing is always a good investment. The Google slap is a clear indication that good quality content is and will continue to be rewarded handsomely.
One of the most compelling lessons I have learned with Internet Marketing is that it is a numbers game...getting your product or service in front of the most qualified people as possible. Early on in my career as an Internet Marketer I thought that if I simply show my affiliate link to a hundred people on a Google ad, that is all I needed to do to make money...boy was I wrong!
There are numerous other ways to market your product or service other than slapping an ad on Google. Don't get me wrong, Google ads are still a very effective way to market your product...just don't use it exclusively. Make sure you know what you are doing before you put your ad on Google or you can lose your shirt. There are many good eBooks online that will teach you how to learn the Google ad system. Even the Google ad website has free tutorials for you to learn the system...read...read....read!
Finding an Internet Marketing Program that shows you how to effectively market your product is crucial! I cannot emphasize this enough. You need to know many marketing methods so you can attack on many fronts...not just Google ads. Google can be a money pit for a novice.
The Internet Marketing Program you choose should have a good support system with a proven roadmap to success. There is nothing that angers me more than the multitude of Internet Marketing Programs currently online in the form of eBooks that show you a few tricks, but have no support system...no roadmap for success.
Once you have a good feeling in your gut about the Internet Marketing Program you're about to embark on and you have done your due diligence, go all out! Don't get sidetracked with other programs, stay focused with the Internet Marketing Program you have chosen. Focus exclusively on it for 3 months and then evaluate. I have always felt that you should do something you feel passionate about...this helps you get through the inevitable ups and downs you will encounter in your new venture.
In the final analysis you should research the company, find Internet Marketing Programs that teach multiple marketing methods and automate required tasks, then stay the course with unwavering resolve and you will achieve much success.

Research Interest And Size Of Market Available
By John Lynch
http://www.how2makemoneyonline.org/
You know you want to go into business for yourself, but just don’t know what type of business you want to open. Once you do some soul-searching and determine you are the type of person who can operate their own business, whether from home, at home or in a franchise situation, finding the right business can be as important as the decision to go into business for yourself.
Look into the many franchise opportunities that you have an interest and can afford, and then choose three or four opportunities. You can then narrow the list by researching their viability in today’s market as well as the saturation in your community. For example, if you are considering a franchise of a nationwide donut shop and there are none within 50 miles of your home, the demand may make it a worthwhile investment.
On the other hand, if there two or more other donut shops in the community, any donut business that exists will split three ways. Additional outlets do not automatically create a larger market. Most times it simply divides the market by one additional outlet. You will also want to consider profit potential and always keep in mind the initial franchise fee, the monthly franchise cost as well as the cost of company-owned supplies when comparing opportunities.
How long it will take to reach the break-even point, that is the amount of your investment and associated costs, will be paid and monthly charges offset by sales income, before making a decision. It will not hurt to talk to other franchisees to learn of their experience with a particular company. While many may not be willing to share detailed information with you, since you are not yet a member of the “family,” they may be willing to talk about their experience with that particular chain.
Look at the trends in the company with which you may want to become a partner. A few years ago, the donut business took a dive in the wake of many concerns about carbohydrate diets. Several unprepared companies took a proverbial bath as a result and could not stay afloat until the controversy ended and donuts came back into fashion.
Consider you target audience and determine if the communities’ demographics will provide a large enough market for your business. If the company estimates your primary customers will be between 30 and 45 years of age and the community demographics show only about 10 percent of the population fit that demographic, donuts may not be in high demand in that area.
Also consider the employment rate in the area and if it is high it may be a sign that not many people can afford the luxury of buying donuts on the run. There are numerous factors to consider when choosing a business and having all the facts and information available can help make an informed decision.
Always do your due diligence before deciding upon the type of business you plan to delve into and this will pay huge dividends for you down stream!

Promoting Your Website
By John Lynch
http://www.How2MakeMoneyOnline.org
Do you feel that you have a product or service that others will love to have? Perhaps having an online website is a great way to advertise your personal business. This will help others to know what products and services that you offer are, and how these products can improve their daily lives.
One of the easiest and most effective ways of promoting your website is to advertise it on several search engines. A search engine scans your website for meta tags or keywords that are related to a searchers request. Using several different key words can help more searchers hit upon your site. Applying to several search engines will increase the number of onlookers to your site, as this is the type of online searching that is used most frequently. Advertising your site online opens your site to customers at all hours of the day and night. People all over the world can browse your site and purchase items, even while you are asleep.
Printing business cards that include all of the necessary information, including your website can also draw in new clients. Shopping online is a growing trend and you do not want to be left out. Giving out business cards to potential clients or even leaving them at places such as public bulletin boards in nearby shopping centers. It may also help to include your web address to your office stationary and fliers. If this is not an option, you can print small labels on your home computer and add them to various advertisements that you send out. Add your web address as a tag line on your emails too, so that people you come into contact with will have the option to browse your site.
You may want to consider paying to have links to your site, posted on other web sites. These sites should be ones that are related to your business, but not sites that are competition to your site. Email the site that you would like to have a link from, and explain that you would like to be considered for placing an ad on their site. You may be asked to pay a small monthly fee for the link to your site, but it can be well worth it if it increases traffic to your web site, and helps to increase the financial stability of your business.
You can also trade links with sites that are related to your business. This is where you promise to put their link on your web site and they will put your link on theirs. A great way to get started is to Google “add your link” and you will have a myriad of sites to trade links with...this should keep you busy for a while.
Do not forget to advertise in local area newspapers also and include your website in the ad. Many potential customers may be interested in your company, but are not sure exactly what types of products and services that you provide. Letting them browse your site before they contact you can cut down on the time that you spend on those that are not interested in what you have to sell, and allows you to focus on those that are interested in your products.
